Accuracy matters for food-science publishing. This policy explains how Balaton Labs handles corrections, retractions, and material updates.
How to report an error
Email editorial@balatonlabs.imgscience.net or use contact. Include the URL, the incorrect text, and a peer-reviewed citation, standard, or logged dataset supporting the fix.
Correction types
- Minor: Typos, broken links, formatting—fixed promptly, no notice required.
- Clarification: Ambiguous wording—updated with a note and date when meaning changes.
- Substantive: Wrong method, statistic, or conclusion—corrected with visible correction notice and review by the responsible author.
- Retraction: Rare; used when a page cannot be supported and should not remain as-is.
Timelines
We acknowledge reports within five business days. Substantive corrections target publication within fifteen business days, depending on verification needs.
Archiving
Major revisions may be summarized at the top of the page. We do not silently delete failed experiments described in good faith; we update conclusions when evidence changes.
