Balaton Labs cites peer-reviewed literature, industry standards, and primary data where possible. This page explains how we select, format, and maintain references.
Preferred sources
- Peer-reviewed journals (food science, sensory, packaging)
- Recognized standards bodies (ISO frameworks, Codex where applicable)
- Manufacturer technical bulletins—labeled as industry documents, not peer review
- Internal batch logs—labeled with batch ID and date
Citation format
Author pages list formal citations (author, year, title, journal, DOI when available). In-article references link to DOI or publisher pages when stable. We avoid bare URLs without context.
Outbound links
External links are chosen for relevance, not payment. We periodically check links; report broken citations via corrections.
Author publications
Selected works are maintained on Simon and Beata biography pages. Site articles such as uhsakadafajjadd white chocolate bars link back to methods and authors.
